H&M Spring 15 and H&M Studio SS15 brings in the retro feels.

Kaftans, suede, flare pants are keywords that you could possibly find in closets of the 1970s, though for the ’15 era remix of the trend, H&M enlisted a contemporary touch with emphasis to the silhouette, patterns and prints that would be relevant to modern sartorial demands.

The collection boasts a distinct resort feel; airy fabric, oversized tunics, breathe-easy shorts – it is all about functionality meets fashion and a dash of boho vibe.

Case in point is this amazing kaftan that comes with matching pants.

This cacti printed kaftan combo from the H&M Studio SS15 carries with it a strong Southwestern vibe, Californian palm tree leaves and the Arizona desert cactus is the dead giveaway. I am instantly transported to my second favorite city in the world (Los Angeles, btw). Versatile even as part of your swimwear throwover, or modelled with jeans and strappy sandals to for a more exotic twist; I chose to highlight its natural state, which I envisioned comes insouciantly with pool sliders to carry on that eclectic cool feel.

To complete the laidback mood of the collection, loungewear were also reinvented to follow suit of the theme and of the Studio SS15 collection. Promimently these two jammy chic pieces.

The Hugh Hefner keypiece, in swanky silk material, the glistening rippling print of a robe goes super fine with shorts (as seen on the lookbook photos) and mandals.

Though my take is a normcore meets formal approach: matching a Spring H&M baggy jumpsuit with the robe for a contemporary Bianca Jagger nod to the ensemble 🙂

I have a thing for matching combos, and this one set jammy set is perf. Its easy and works as a casual piece or a sexy formal get-up just by switching shoes and accessories. Amazingly versatile to play up with.

The trend doesnt just stop at tent-y airy materials.

For Spring 15, H&M clearly looks out to Wanderlust elements: from all that resort-infused frocks for Studio SS15, the mood also continues for Spring 15 pieces.

Lots of neutral colors are prominent, particularly Safari colors, suede, linen somehoe combines the utilitarian chic meets bohemian drama. It’s like cream and coffee altogether.

This sand-colored vest is a brilliant hybrid; it works as a dress too! I chose to play layering peekaboo by unzipping the bottom half to show off the stunning camel-colored suede shorts. I top it off with a statement silver-colored necklace that pops the tamer toned vest. Against my skin tone, I feel like a Bedouin queen :3

This medieval cotton shirt is everything. Rather than the usual lace/broderie anglaise alternative, H&M sticks to the classics, and are so easy to wear with EVERYTHING. Put on flare jeans with clogs  to get to the retro vibes or stand by me for a more carefree modern version.

and co-ords, ahh coming back to that! Matchy-matchy is still in. but matched with a 70s mix with cord material in taupe color, I say its a clear winner.
