As a self-proclaimed princess, I am not one to be compared with the dainty, girly library of princesses that squeals and sings to birds and other woodland creatures (though, I don’t really mind that).

My regal take includes a little remix and inspo from the ultimate groupie icons of the late 80s and early 90s. Grunge glam perfection personified by the great Courtney Love, who pioneered heroin chic which then followed by the equally iconic Kate Moss.

A princess in their own right (married/associated with rock royalties themselves), Courtney Love is one beyond her title as former Mrs. Cobain. Leading a rock group outfit Hole, Courtney Love is a prolific figure in the grunge and punk rock heyday of the 90s. Known also for her uninhibited and confrontatinal lyrics, this also translates to her reckless with a very sophisticated edge.

Which is why Hedi Slimane had also referenced this queen of punk rock in his recent SS16 showcase in Paris. Flannel shirts , fauz fur coats, slinky bedroom slips , burly boots and to top it off, the quintessential tiara piece completes the Courtney Love homage succinctly.

Even hints of glitter were generously scattered to add in to the vibe.

Even the house of Saint Laurent  have tapped on the icon to represent the rock and roll collection at one time.
